Thelma Bryant, 100, of Marshalltown, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven  on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Hawkeye Care Center  with her loving daughter, Beverly at her side in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017, at First Church of the Nazarene in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Thelma Lillian Petzold was born on September 17, 1916, in Des Moines, Iowa; she was the daughter of William and Ruth (Traffely) Petzold. Thelma attended school in the Des Moines School District graduating high school from Des Moines North. On August 15, 1936, Thelma was united in marriage to George R. Bryant in Des Moines at First Church of the Nazarene. They had lived in Des Moines, Centerville and Marshalltown, living here the last 25 years. She had worked at Fantles, Look Magazine and for the Meredith Publishing Corporation in Des Moines.

Thelma enjoyed ceramic painting, sewing, shopping, she and George loved to travel, enjoyed cooking and was very good at it, but above all else she was all about loving and enjoying her family.
 
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Beverly (Jud deceased) Eichorn of Marshalltown; Gary (Joy) Bryant of Marshalltown, and James (Christine) Bryant of California. Grandchildren, Karen (Judson) Jakobitz of Minnesota, Denise (Ty) Lasher of Kansas, Cheryl (Dave) Freel of Marshalltown, Jeff (Heidi) Eichorn of Ames, Shelly (Mike) Walton of Marshalltown, Kelly Newcomb of Garwin, Eric (Jennie) Bryant of  Nebraska, Meredith (Matt) Mylott of Missouri, Jeremy (Melissa) Bryant of California, Sarah (Buck) Heater of California, Ben (Molly) Bryant of California and Catherine Bryant of Kansas. Great-grandchildren: Josh, Janae, Garrett, Chad, Drew, Alex, Jenna, Jessica, Sydney, Madilyn, Bryce, Camden, Austin, Keaton, Kaden, Kenton, Kharrington, Megan, Mason, and Jaxson and great-great-grandchildren, Walker, J. Max, Lillemore and Tory.

In death Thelma rejoins her parents, William and Ruth; husband, George; brother, William and sister, Nettie.
