Gary Dean Hurst, 62, of Newport departed this life Thursday, May 11, 2017. He was born August 29, 1954 to John and Hazel (Vanover) Hurst. He enjoyed watching Sam Elliott and Harrison Ford movies, Bonanza, Gun Smoke, westerns, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother; Billy Joe Hurst.
His survivors are two sons; Robert Newton of Texas, and Brian Newton (Olivia) of Greenbrier, two daughters; Jennifer Salazar of Newport, and Rebecca Ruiz (Rafael) of Russellville, two brothers; Carl Hurst of Southside, and Johnny Hurst of Amagon, eleven grandchildren; Zella and Zachary Salazar, Stephanie, Javier, and Madison Ruiz, Brian, Jr., Shawn, Aaron, Abby, Melissa, and Logan Newton, ex-wife; Ruth Hurst of Newport, and a special friend; Ruben Salazar of Newport.
