Dennis W. Martin, 81, formerly of Cochranton and a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Meadville Medical Center.

Born, June 27, 1935 in Grove City, he was the son of Frank and Mae Kilgore Martin.

Dennis worked at the former Dry Screen in Pittsburgh and also worked at the Keplar Hotel in Meadville.

He enjoyed fishing, all kinds of animals, especially dogs, and he was a member of the Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department Station #4 Firehouse Grill.

Survivors include his children, Susan Martin (Ed) of Erie, Shirley VonHedman (Ray) of Johnstown, John Martin (Diane) of Wattsburg, Michael Martin (Judy) of Cochranton and Milinda Rice (Charles) of Pittsburgh and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Gary Martin, a grandson, Clinton Kopta and two great grandsons, Aiden and Zachary VonHedman.

Friends and family will be received at the DICKSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm with the funeral service to follow at 8:00pm with the Rev. Benjamin Travis of the Meadville Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will be in the Cochranton Cemetery.
