He was born July 15, 1926 to Lewis and Lena (Springston) Brown near Elsberry, Missouri.
Private family Memorial Services were held on Saturday, 10:00 a.m., June 9, 2012 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Don Amelung and Rev. John Birkhead officiating.
He married Mary (Graham) Brown on June 23, 1965, in Bowling Green, Missouri. She survives. Carroll attended the White Swan School and the Eolia High School. He professed his faith at Smith Chapel church at a young age where he later served as Stewart of the church.
During his lifetime he was a truck driver, served as Clopton School custodian for twenty years and enjoyed his favorite pastime as an antique dealer for more than thirty years. He loved watching and talking about the St. Louis Cardinals.
Other survivors include two daughters Carolyn Dempsey of O'Fallon, Donna McPike and husband Buck of Bowling Green; three sons Ron Brown and wife Kay of Troy, Vernon Brown of Middletown, and Eugene Brown of Eolia; ten grandchildren Laura, Miles, Tim, Sonya, Tina, Shawn, Heather, Holly, Tiffany, and Zachary; one sister Lucille Grimes of Eolia; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two sons Bruce Brown and Eddie Brown; one brother Alvin Brown; one sister Mildred Houston; and one son-in-law Guy Dempsey.
NOTE: Carroll's ashes were placed in his second wife's (i.e., Mary) casket in Edgewood Cemetery.
