She was born on 11/12/1917 in rural Lincoln County to Lewis Finley and Lena Frances Springston Brown.
On April 27, 1940 she married Champ Clark Grimes. They resided in Moline, IL until 1946, when they returned to Pike County.
Lucille taught school at Hickory Ridge, Smith, White Swan and Eolia. She loved making pressed flower cards to give to her visitors, hunting mushrooms, working in her yard and doing family and area history.
She is survived by her daughters; Sara McBeth and Jane Mann both of Eolia. Her grandchildren; Susen and David McBeth, Amanda Mann Jones, Carson and Lewis Mann. Great-grandchildren; Lauren and Thomas McBeth and Stella Mann. She is also survived by a sister-in-law: Mary Brown of Bowling Green and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Champ Grimes and her siblings; Mildred Houston, Alvin and Carroll Brown.
