A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late William Alonzo and Maybelle Martin Hix. Mr. Hix retired from the construction industry was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and also a Mason. He also was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Olbon and husband Rick, Nancy Holliday (late James Michael Holliday), and Judy Holliday and husband Randy all of Westminster; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brothers, James, Ralph, Billy, and Johnny Hix; and sisters, Edna Thrift, Annie Sue Ramsay, and Sara Durham.
A funeral service will be held 3 pm, Monday, May 8, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-3 prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with full masonic rites.
