Wilma Jean Roberts, 80, of Ashland, went to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family in Carter Nursing and Rehab.
Wilma was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Levi Edward and Clara Bloomfield Troyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Troyer and Paul David Troyer.
Wilma was a lifelong resident of Ashland. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and Ashland Business College. Wilma attended Heritage Freewill Baptist Church. She retired from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital after 23 years as a Medical Transcriptionist in the Laboratory Department and worked from home after retirement. She was also a loving homemaker to her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Lonnie Williams Roberts Sr.; a son, Dr. L. William Roberts Jr. and wife Judy; a daughter, Kathy Marie Castle and husband Bill; three grandchildren, Jenifer Steger, Stephanie (Michael) Bolen and Kimberly Roberts Bates; two stepgrandchildren, Crystal Stubblefield and Sunny Castle; nine great-grandchildren, Will, Ford, Annie, John Ryan, Liam, Paige, Elizabeth, Beckham, Briggs; four great-stepgrandchildren, Alli, Brook, Trinity and Hunter; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home, 13th Street Chapel in Ashland with The Rev. Ed Cook officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer research, American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73121.
