After retirement, Leon and Johnnie volunteered for RSVP, in Sapulpa, driving the shuttle bus for seniors, delivering meals to elderly citizens and taking elderly to Doctor's offices and grocery stores. He also volunteered for the local famed band, The Kitchen Kats, and played for many local area organizations and Nursing homes.
