Leon Ellis Warner was born on October 27, 1933 in the Pretty Water area to Lyda Jane and Homer Leo Warner and stepped into heaven on April 27, 2017. He attended Allen Bowden and then Sapulpa schools. Leon told many stories about his childhood. Some of the more memorable include his three mile walk to school each day, his duty to retrieve eggs and milk from a spring fed waterfall near Pretty Water Lake, and later when his family moved to town he volunteered to shuttle hamburgers and hotdogs from local stands for WWII soldiers camping near the railroad yard off of Hobson. After graduation, Leon served in the Army specializing in aircraft maintenance. Leon saw American Airlines expand and become one of America's largest airlines during his 41 years of service in various capacities. Leon retired from American Airlines in 1996. Leon was known as Junior or "snake" in many work circles because of his ability to maneuver in tight mechanical spaces within jet aircraft.

After retirement, Leon and Johnnie volunteered for RSVP, in Sapulpa, driving the shuttle bus for seniors, delivering meals to elderly citizens and taking elderly to Doctor's offices and grocery stores. He also volunteered for the local famed band, The Kitchen Kats, and played for many local area organizations and Nursing homes. Leon was well known as an accomplished Harmonica player, playing with local bands, at Churches, Company Parties and various family events and gatherings. He loved playing western and gospel songs.

Leon met his future wife, Johnnie Mae Gremore, at the Dixieland Skating Rink west of Sapulpa, and they began their journey through life for the next sixty five years. They were married in June, 1954, and shared their life with three children, their spouses, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Leon is survived by his wife, Johnnie Mae, and his children, Leon Warner Jr and his spouse Donna, Lynn Warner and his spouse Annette, and Jinger Waller and her spouse Robert. He is also survived by grandchildren Amanda Warner Martin (Tom), Julie Warner Enlow (Chad), Jimmy Warner (Kayla), Justin Warner (Amanda), Lora Waller Chambers (Tim), Jennifer Warner Cothran (Allan), and Kimberly Warner Skidmore (Jacob). Great grandchildren include Cade Enlow, Cutter Enlow, Wade Martin, Kallie Jo Martin, Sadie Skidmore, Saige Cothran, Savannah Cothran, Quinn Cothran, Johnny, Ty Warden, Fallon Warner, and Sydney Warner (on the way).

Services for Leon will be held at the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10 AM with Rex Acree officiating. The family is very grateful for the so many friends and family who have shared their time, their prayers, and their resources with the family. Visitation is on Sunday from 1-8 pm. Donations to Blue Star Mothers (907 S Detroit Ave, Tulsa, OK 74120) in Memory of Leon Warner are appreciated by the family. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
