Brenda Dupree, 69, formerly of Forest Grove, late of McMinnville, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Pacifica Senior Living facility in McMinnville.


Brenda Fay Dupree was born May 24, 1947 in Fresno California, the daughter of the late Acie Obediah "Acie" Owens and Jessie Alma (Seymour) Owens.

As a young child she moved with her family to Oregon settling in the Forest Grove community, were she was raised and received her education. Brenda completed her schooling at the Forest Grove high school having been a graduate of the class of 1965.

She was united in marriage to Virgil Butler in 1965 in Forest Grove. Following their marriage they made their home in the communities of Forest Grove and Verboort. They later divorced.

On September 4, 1976 Brenda was united in marriage to Dennis Dupree in Reno Nevada. Following their marriage they made their home in western Washington county and Cove Orchard of Yamhill County. In 2009, she moved to the Pacifica Senior Living Community in McMinnville, where she had been a guest resident since.

Brenda had worked in high tech computer manufacturing for Intel Inc. for 15 years until she retired.

She was a member of the Cornelius Eagles Lodge Aerie #4177 in Cornelius Oregon.

Among her special interest she enjoyed crocheting, camping and playing golf and bingo. Brenda also had a special love for her family life, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed helping putting on the family's many pig roasts.

Brenda was also preceded in death by her parents Acie and Jessie Owens and her daughter Tonya Butler in infancy; her three sisters, Marie Day, Maxine Taylor and ODell Muir and her brother Jerry Owens.

Survivors include her husband Dennis Dupree of Dayville Oregon her six children and their spouses, Shelly & Manuel Ruiz of Hillsboro Oregon, Jess Butler of Hillsboro Oregon, US Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Devin & Stacie Dupree currently stationed at Andrews Airforce Mairland, Jason Butler of Dayville Oregon, Darina & Daryl Breedlove of Brownwood Texas and Darrin & Susan Dupree of Dallas Oregon: her two sisters and brother in-laws, Peggy & Leo Long of Hillsboro Oregon and Darlene & Gary Gage of Cornelius Oregon, and her three brothers and sister inlaws, Elbert Owens of Hillsboro Oregon, Russell Owens of Lubbock Texas and Dub & Gail Owens of Gales Creek Oregon.

Also surviving are her twelve grandchildren, her six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The Family suggest that remembrances may be contributions to the Alzheimer's Association of Oregon 1650 N W Naito Parkway, Suite 190 Portland Oregon 97209 in her memory.
