Jack Edward Berry, the son of Jacqueline Louise Berry (deceased) and Howard K. Berry, Jr. and lifelong resident of Oklahoma City has died. He was 62. The cause was Crohn's Disease, an inflammatory disease of the bowel. Jack was born on March 8, 1955 in Yuma, Arizona, and left this earth on April 27, 2017, in Oklahoma City. Jack attended Nichols Hills Elementary School, D.D. Kirkland Elementary School before going to Casady School and finishing his high school at John Marshall. He attended the University of Oklahoma studying primarily in the field of photography and videography. Photos and video were his life's work. Jack worked for the famous Barney Hillerman for a number of years in Hillerman's photography operation. Jack was attracted to music both in composition and performance. He also had an instinct for art and drawing caricatures. He was an excellent guitar player and recorded several CD's and played in a number of Oklahoma City nightclubs as a true bluesman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Louise Owens Berry and survived by his father, Howard K. Berry, Jr. and wife, Denise; his brother Howard K. Berry, III and wife, Penny; his sister Robin Rene´ Berry and husband, Kent Hawkins. He is also survived by 5 children, Melanie Berry of Pittsburgh, PA; Joel Berry of Dallas, TX; Jennifer Belcher of Oklahoma City, Ashley Berry of Oklahoma City and Jack Berry, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY; 2 grandchildren, Alex and Caden, along with numerous cousins. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Jack and Edna Owens. Also surviving Jack is his "best dog ever" Lucy, whom he gleefully cohabited with the last 11 years of his life. Jack was a longtime member of the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church. Services were at graveside at Memorial Park in Oklahoma City, where he was buried with his Grandfather Howard K. Berry, Sr., his Grandmother Virginia Gochenour Berry and Aunt Carol Berry Messmore.
