Hayes State College and her Education Specialist Degree from University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Slusher-Stephens retired from the English Department of Davidson Fine Arts. Mrs. Slusher-Stephens was a member and two-time president of the Magnolia Garden Club and member of the Divas Book Club and of the Old Friends Book Club. She was a member of Church of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Family members in addition to her husband include sons: David H. Slusher (Darlene) and James A. Slusher (Marilyn); grandchildren: Lila, Emily and Jonathan; brother: Hugh Hubble. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her first husband: Dale Slusher, sister: Christine Hubble and brother: Patrick Hubble.
The family wishes to thank Betty and Costa Sivas, Dick and Claire Stracke and Carol with Trinity Hospice for all of their love and care.
A funeral Mass was Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 12:00 Noon at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with Fr. Jazek Szuster celebrant. Interment followed in Westover Memorial Park.
