SERGEANT BLUFF -- Olive M. Francis, 89, Sergeant Bluff, died Sunday in a hospital in Onawa, Iowa.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Christy Morningside Funeral Home. The Rev. Eldor Wilkens of Billy Sunday Memorial Tabernacle will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home.
Mrs. Francis, the former Olive M. Dobbertin, was born March 4, 1896, in Neenah, Wis. She married Carl Boyer in Neenah and they moved to Sloan, Iowa in 1916. She married Lewis Francis in 1928. He died June 13, 1973, in Sioux City. She had lived in Sergeant Bluff since 1966.
Mrs. Francis was a charter member of the Daughters of Union Veterans and Ladies of the GAR, both in Sioux City.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Francis of Sergeant Bluff, Richard Francis of Texas and O.C. Boyer of Atchison, Kan.; two daughters, Margaret Garoutte of Alameda, Calif., and Mrs. W. Howard (Grace/sb Grayce) Smith of Moville, Iowa; a foster daughter, Rose Heeren of Le Mars, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren."
