Funeral services will be held at an 11 AM Mass of Christian burial Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Leonard Elie Broussard, 82, who died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

The American Legion Post No. 69 will be performing a ceremony at 10:30 Friday in the funeral home.

Monsignor Charles Mallet will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Interment will take place at Fountain Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Broussard, the son of the late Elie Broussard and the former Jeanne Ledet, was born in Abbeville and was living in Butte LaRose. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, having served time during World War II. Mr. Broussard was a member of the American Legion Post No. 69, the V.F.W. of Youngsville, and the National Association for Uniform Service.

Survivors include two brothers, Paul J. Broussard and his wife, Helen, of Lafayette, and George Broussard and his wife, Lavada, of Warner Robbins, Ga.; four sisters, Anne B. Breaux, of Lafayette, Therese Higginbotham and her husband ,Tommy, of Lafayette, Irene B. Mouton, of Butte LaRose, and Lucille B. Venable, of Lafayette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Otis A., Isaac J. and Jules Broussard.

Visiting hours will be observed from 4 PM until 8 PM today and will continue from 8 AM Friday until the time of services.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM today in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Carl and Jean C. Breaux Jr., Jules Broussard, Kenny and Donald Higginbotham, Charles Langlinais, Frank J. Brown and Tony Venable.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul and George Broussard, Ernest Freedman, John Wayne Mitchell and Tommy Higginbotham.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
