A. E. Kistler, 84, of south of Auburn, died at 5 a. m. Saturday at the Dr. J. A. Sanders hospital in Auburn. His death was attributed to complications.
Mr. Kistler had been in poor health for several years. He was admitted to the hospital in Auburn two months ago.
He was born June 16, 1863, on a farm in Allen county just south of the Allen-DeKalb county line and a mile west of state road 427. He lived his entire life on the farm where he was born. His wife preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Jay Kistler, who resides on the farm with his father; a sister, Mrs. William Surfus of eight miles south of Auburn on state road 427; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Kistler attended the former Mount Olivet United Brethren church, which was located near his home.
The body was removed to the Gerig funeral home in Auburn, where it will remain for funeral services to be conducted at 2 p. m. Monday. Burial will be in Cedar Chapel cemetery.
