Cordelia S. Morris Phillips, 92, of Stanleytown Health & Rehab passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Stanleytown Health & Rehab. She was born February 24, 1925 in Virginia to the late Clauda Shelton Scales and Hardie Scales. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James W. Phillips and Teafus Morris Sr. and two sons, Teafus Morris Jr. and Evan G. Morris.

Cordelia is survived by one son, Donnie Morris of Bassett, Va.; three daughters, Joan Mickle of Reidsville, N.C., Yvonne Harley of Martinsville, Va., Marcella Howard of Newport News, Va.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harry Scales and Timothy Scales both of Ridgeway, Va.

Cordelia was a member of Mayo Missionary Baptist Church were she served on the choir, Missionary Deparment, Sunday School and former member of Eastern Star. She retired from Hampco Apparel.

Funeral service will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Mayo Missionary Baptist Church, Ridgeway, Va. Pastor Dwight Mack, officiating.

Interment will be in Mayo Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Ridgeway, Va.
