Thomas W. Mohr

91, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2017. Mr. Mohr was born June 13, 1925, in Rockford, Illinois, to the late Clay and Goldie (Henry) Mohr.

He proudly served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Mohr graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University. Tom worked for Equitable Life for 35 years, retiring in 1984 as the state operations manager. Mr. Mohr was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church since 1967 and was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3660. He loved aviation and was also an avid golfer. Tom was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. Above all, he was strongly devoted to his family and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Dugan) Mohr; sister, Marianne Troyer.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Bevis (Ron) of Greenwood; sister, Martha Zimmerman of Gibson City, Illinois; grandchildren, Brian (Erin) Bevis, Daniel (Rebecca) Bevis, and Jaclyn Bevis; great grandchild, Julian Bevis and one on the way, Keating Bevis.

Friends and family will gather on Saturday, April 29, 2017, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in St. Jude Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow in Holy Cross. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Roncalli High School. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home.
