Preston L. Evans, 63, of Lenexa passed away April 21, 2017. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St., Lenexa, KS; followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
Preston was born September 19, 1953, the son of Burl and Pearl (Cravens) Evans, in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Westport High School, Class of 1971. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company; followed by working as a Data Analyst for Quest Diagnostics.
He was loyal to the graduates of Westport High School. He took on the role of webmaster of the alumni web site. Preston would maintain and update the records for the site and included a variety of events, reunions and other pertinent information for the alumni of Westport High School. He was very proud alumni and wanted to make sure that their legacy would be remembered and never forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his father, Burl; and sister, Barbara Loveland. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Johnell; daughter, Angela MacDonald and husband James; son, Jason Evans and fiancé Heather; four grandchildren, Jordan, Joseph, Jason Jr., and Ryker; mother, Pearl Evans; seven siblings, Patricia; Richard and wife Susan; Mari and husband Bob; Phyllis and husband Mike; Shirley and husband Robert; Victor; and Diane and husband Jason; and his many loving nieces and nephews; and his friends and classmates of Westport High; especially his closest of friends, Ed Kenney.
