Mary E. Dyer was born near Brussels, December 19, 1886, and died December 28, 1912 at her home in Elsberry. She was the daughter of William and Eliza Knox and the grand-daughter of Mathew and Nancy Knox and Jonathan and Mary Dodson. She was taken into the Star Hope Church at the age of 19 years under the ministry of Charles Mitchell and was true to her profession until God called her to rest. She was married to T. N. Dyer in March 1897. God blessed their home with two daughters, Helen E. and Rebecca. Six sisters and two brothers; Odessa, Clara, Johnie, Aziel, Nellie, Sophia, Jesse, Eliza and many relatives and friends to morn her departure. The remains were taken to the Baptist church at Elsberry and funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wiley J. Patrick. She was buried in the Elsberry cemetery.
