Virginia Inez Strider Jennings, age 88, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Randolph County on June 29, 1928 to Andrew and Estella Callicutt Strider. She was retired from Stedman Manufacturing with over 40 years of service. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Randolph Hospital for over 30 years. Inez was a member of Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church where she was very active in the church nursery. In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Causey Jennings.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen J. Trogdon and husband Jeff of Randleman; son, Michael Jennings and wife Janice of Asheboro; grandchildren, Brandon Jennings and wife Eloisa of Asheboro, Joshua Jennings of Asheboro, Matthew Trogdon of Greensboro; 3 great grandchildren; and brother, John Strider of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church, 1928 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
