LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Nettie Dugas, age 95, the former Nettie Savoie, who passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:35 a.m. at Bethany Healthcare in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro.
Mrs. Dugas was a native of St. Landry parish and lived most of her life in Lafayette. She was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include her son, Jimmie Dugas and wife, Barbara, of Scott; two grandchildren, Francine Landry and husband, Geoff, Christine Leger and husband, Chad; three great grandchildren, Morgan Landry, Adam Dore’, Emily Dore’; four step-great grandchildren, Josh Leger, Jordyn Leger, Anniston Landry, Sydney Landry; and three sisters, Janelle Guidry and husband, Paul, of Lafayette, Verna Lou Guidry of Lafayette and Marella “Sue” Lasley of Sunset.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Homer Dugas; her parents, Euclide Savoie and the former Maria Legere; six brothers, Rodney Savoie, Frank Savoie, Leray Savoy, Hubert Savoie, Floyd Savoy and Euclide Savoie, Jr.; and six sisters, Hazel Stelly, Hilda Alleman, Frances Brignac, Bienna Dugas, Monique Domingue and Marie Louise Asavado.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
