Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Monique Savoie Domingue, 85, who died on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Dauterive Hospital surrounded by her family.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Dr. Adonis J. Domingue of New Iberia, LA; three sons, Michael Domingue of Boston, MA, Steven Domingue of Austin, TX and John Domingue of Kyoto, Japan; five grandchildren, Marina Domingue, Sakura Domingue, Bree Hawes-Domingue, Kathleen Hawes-Domingue and Race Picou; and five sisters, Nettie Courville, Marie Asevido, Marella Lasley, Janelle Guidry and Bienna Dugas.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Domingue Picou (died March 3, 2013), her parents, Euclide and Marie Savoie; six brothers, Rodney, Euclide, Jr., Frank, Hubert, Leray and Floyd Savoie; and three sisters, Hazel Stelly, Hilda Alleman and Frances Brignac.

Monique Savoie Domingue was born on November 28, 1927 in Coulee Croche, Louisiana. She was a resident of New Iberia for over 60 years and attended Southwestern Business School. Mrs. Domingue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
