Raymond Robert Page, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 22, 2017 at the age of 65 after a heroic battle with cancer.
Ray is survived by his mother, Flora, wife, Karen, son, Michael and his wife, Shelly, daughter, Charity and her husband, Doug, daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Brian and son, Seth and his wife, Claire and his grandchildren, Hannah, Becca, Bailey, Olivia, Brandon, Gavin, Josey, Sage, John, Alexis and Autumn.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Frank and brother, John.
Ray was born in 1951 near Santa Rosa, NM to Frank and Flora Page and had six brothers and sisters, Mary, West, Peggy, John, Debbie and Theresa.
Ray was an accomplished man. After high school he joined the United States Air Force and served his country from 1971 until 1979 where he worked as a Security Force K9 handler. After his service he moved back to New Mexico, attended the University of New Mexico where he received his BS in only three years. After finishing his degree, he joined Sandia National Laboratories where he worked with the protective force Special Response Team. Later he became a Lieutenant and instructor with the pro force. After his pro force career, he moved into one of Sandia's security system design groups, where he designed equipment for the Department of Energy pro force units at many of the sites. In addition to his design and testing responsibilities at Sandia, he traveled extensively to many foreign countries where he worked with their security systems. During his early years at Sandia, he also moonlighted on Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office SWAT team. After retiring from Sandia, he worked for the Special Technologies Lab, another DOE lab, designing protection systems for many of DOE's scientific and power generation sites throughout the country.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the UNM Cancer Center, as well as all of the nurses from Professional Case Management, who provided such excellent care at home.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ray's life.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Blvd Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. A reception to follow on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services at Wyoming Sun Room, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquereque, NM. A Committal Service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe Street, Santa Fé, NM.
