He married the love of his life, Lucille Hammett, in 1947 and they had a daughter, Frances Eileen and a son, Neil Scott Murry.
He was loved by all who knew him.

James P. Murry of Eufaula, moved to heaven on April 23rd at the age of 92. James was born in Muskogee Oklahoma on April 21, 1925. He proudly served on the USS Portland Naval Ship during World War II as a gunner, and later received an honorable discharge.
He married the love of his life, Lula Lucille Hammett, on May 3, 1947 at Sunny Side Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California. They shared 70 years of life and marriage together.
James was a man of God, who lived a life of integrity with a tender heart and tough hide. He was a member of Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church as well as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. James will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Maggie Murry; eight brothers and sisters.
James is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lucille Murry of 70 years; son's family, Scott and Michelle Murry with, grandchildren, Jason and Tyler; daughters family, Eileen and Doug Trovato, with grandchildren, Leslie and David; and 5 great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
A family conducted memorial service will be at 11:00 P.M., Monday, May 1, 2017 at Lindsey Chapel Church with Pastor Tim Turner officiating.
