Mrs. Rose M. Pruden

YORKTOWN - Mrs. Rose M Pruden, 71, of 303 Seven Hollys Drive, died Wednesday at Riverside Hospital.

She was born in Newport News and had been a lifelong Peninsula resident.

She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown.

She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, 17th Century Lord de la Warr Chapter and the National Society of Daughters of The American Revolution, Comte de Grasse Chapter. She was also a member of the Associaiton for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, Yorktown Branch.

Survivors incude a son, John Henry Pruden Jr., of Yorktown; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Bayless of Edenton, NC; three brothers, Kembel Johnson of Dunnellon, Fla, Richard Johnson of Charlotte, NC, and James Johnson of Honolulu; three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm Friday in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev Claude S. Turner Jr, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Peninsula Funeral Home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown.
