He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman H. and Ocie I Bruns of Van Buren. A brother, James Albert Bruns of Van Buren and a son, Frederick Charles Bruns.
He was survived by his wife, Sybil E. Bruns of the home.
A daughter, Mary Bruns Trent of Van Buren, a son, Carl Wayne Bruns of Van Buren. He has 6 grandchildren, Kenny, Kay Lynn, Frederick, Mary Trent, Karla and Lulu Bruns. He is also survived by his brothers, Herman R of Amarillo Texas, Francis of Waco, Texas, Antone of Los Angeles, CA, Walter and Bob of Van Buren, Bill of Gladstone Missouri and Henry of New Orleans, Louisiana;His sisters, Cora Pauline Lambert of Tulsa Oklahoma, Hermie Smith of Tulsa Oklahoma and Caroline Allen of Van Buren, Arkansas.
Services were held at Wood Memorial Christian Church in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
