Hermie Ione Bruns Smith, died March 4, 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman H. Bruns and Ocie Ione Bruns; Her brothers, James Albert, Frederick 'Pete', Walter, Antone, Bill, Henry, Herman Richard and Francis.
A sister, Pauline Bruns Lambert; and one granddaughter, Karen Green.

She was survived by her husband, Joe Edsel Smith of the home. Five children, Paula Levy, Randy Smith, Gregory Smith, Neil Smith and Melissa Swagerty. She had 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was also survived by a brother,Robert C. "Bob" Bruns and a sister, Caroline Bruns Allen, all of Van Buren.

Funeral services were held in Wood Memorial Christian Church with burial at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers were Les Actkinson, Richard Sitton, Roger Kendrick, Joe Jackson, Bob Jones, and Mike Franklin.
