Elizabeth is a daughter of David Williams and Elizabeth Bonville. She married John William Stephens about 1869 in Wales.
Elizabeth and John immigrated to the United States settling at first in Placerville, California where their first two sons were born: David and John Williams. By 1875 they were in Saint Johns, Idaho where most of John's siblings had settled and his parents also. Three more children were born there: Evan, Elizabeth J, and Daniel.
By 1881 the family had moved to Challis, Idaho where they stayed and raised their family. Two more children were born: Thomas and William.
Elizabeth died at age 74 two days before her husband, John.
