Buck was the son of Benjamin Bledsoe and Rosa (Yager) Bledsoe Scott. This cemetery is located on what was his farm that he had bought in 1853.

In the 1990s while researching at the Cabell County court house, I found William Bledsoe's death record. I remember that day vividly, I was so excited, the record stated his parents were Benjamin and Rosa Bledsoe. It was a smaller, thinner death register book. The book was inverted copies of the original pages. It was the type where the pages were black and the writing was white. I have looked for and asked about that book afterwards, but could never find it again and the clerks knew nothing about it.
