Son of Ludwig Brunnemer and Margaretha Kern, husband of Addie I. Luyster.

Obituary - John Brunnemer, a life-long resident of Brooklyn, and one of the best-known real estate lawyers in this borough, is dead at his residence, 719 Quincy Street, where he passed away last evening from a complication of ailments after an illness of about four months. He was born in the Eastern District, March 22, 1852, and received his early education in the public schools. He was a graduate of the New York Law School and at the age of 18 entered the office of Albert Matthews, in Manhattan. He was admitted to the bar in 1874 and at one time was associated with Judge Fallon, of New York. For the past ten years he had his office in the Arbuckle Building, this borough. He was well-known in political and fraternal circles, and in 1891, he was the Republican candidate for Judge. He was a member of Baltic Lodge, 284, F. & A.M., Ridgewood Chapter, No. 263 Royal Arch Masons; DeWitt Clinton Commandery, No. 27, Knights Templar; The Brooklyn Masonic Veterans, Kings County; Republican Club and the Mutual Templars and Rose Croix Knights Association, of New York. Mr. Brunnemer is survived by his wife, who was Emma L. Nauman, to whom he was married about four years ago, she being his second wife. The funeral services are to be held at the late residence, Friday evening, at 8 o'clock.

Asst. of New York; Brooklyn Masonic Veterans and Kings County Republican Club are invited to attend. Interment Private.
