Mrs. Rhodes, widow of Roland Rhodes, died December 8, 2001. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Magnolia Tarte Broach. Together, she and her husband operated Rhodes Grocery during the 1950s and 60s. Mrs. Rhodes was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy (Nancy) Rhodes of Darlington; daughter-in-law, Jeanette "Sarah" Rhodes of Darlington; 18 grandchildren; great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Dorothy R. Driggers and Christine R. Griggs; son, William Rhodes.
