Wm. H. Wood succumbs; services held
William Henry Wood, 85, of Cedar City, died May 17, in the Valley View medical Center following a short illness.
He was born January 6, 1890 in Cedar City, the son of George Henry and Elizabeth Ann Bryner Wood. He married Rhoda Matheson Oct. 10, 1912 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died January 1, 1975.
A lifetime resident of Cedar City he had attended Cedar City Schools an active member of the LDS Chruch, he had served a Mission for the Church to the Western States.
Survivors include 3 sons and 2 daughters: Henry A. Wood of Chino Valley, Ariz., Lehi M. of Cedar City and Grant of Fort Erie, Ontario, Mrs. John B. (June) Danvers of Murray, Mrs. Henry B. (Esther) Hawkins, Monroe, North Carolina, 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters: Preston and Rulon both of Cedar City, Mrs. Ada Armstrong of Sandy and Mrs. Gwendolyn Jones of Enterprise.
Funeral services were held Tuesday May 20, at 1 p.m. in the 14th LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Garth Leishman officiating. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuary.
