Bluford "Son" A. Boyter, age 82, of 707 Milton Road, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Laurens County and was the son of the late J. B. and Mary Jane Thrift Boyter.

Mr. Boyter was retired from the Clinton Mills and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Laurens.

He is survived by his two sons, Jake A. Boyter, Jr. of Clinton and Jerry Simmons of Laurens; his three daughters, Barbara McJunkin of Laurens, Debra Edwards of Laurens, and Alice Lawson of Joanna; his two sisters, Peggy Boyter and Bessie Boyter, both of Joanna; his 24 grandchildren and 50 plus great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his wife, Viola Boyter, and two daughters, Mary Romines and Bertie Mims.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 2:00 P.M. a Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.

The family will be at the home, 707 Milton Road, Joanna, SC 29351.
