Age 84, of Gainesville, New York passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2017.

He was born October 3, 1932 in Buffalo, New York son of the late Carmelo and Mary Zuppa Sacco. Anthony was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Anthony is the lone survivor of the Second Division of the 38th Infantry Regimental Headquarters Company.

Anthony was a man of many talents. He could fix or do anything. He was a longtime member of the Laborers Union Local 210 in Buffalo and he was skilled in operating heavy equipment. Anthony loved spending time in Florida during the winter. He was a member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans and the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Anthony was predeceased by his previous spouse, Phyllis Hulburd Sacco and his son, Anthony Sacco, Jr.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Patricia Davis; his children, Carmen (Sue) Sacco of Fairport, Christine (Richard) Whittington of Louisiana, Larry (Cathy) Sacco of Gainesville, Danny (Michele) Sacco of Gainesville, Kenny (Terri) Sacco of Bergen, Steve (Melinda) Sacco of Castile; grandchildren, Sheree (Steve) VanVreede, Travis (Helen) Sacco, Brandon (Amanda) Sacco, Jason Sacco, Kenny (Becky) Baker, Greg (Jessica) Baker, Justin Sacco, Stephanie Sacco; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Pasquale Sacco, Dominic Sacco, Phyllis Bauss, Mildred Miles and Josephine Fitzgerald.

Services are private. Private burial will be in Hermitage Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Joint Veterans Council, 26 Linwood Ave., Warsaw, New York 14569.

Our family chain is broken now and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
