Ann attended many schools in her earliest years due to her father’s business before they settled down in Corpus Christi. She attended the Junior High of C.C. (Wynn Seale) & Corpus Christi High School (Miller). She attended Hockaday Jr. College (Dallas) and The University of Texas where she was majoring in Mathematics and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Ann married Gilbert J. McGloin, August 10, 1944 on Alameda Air Station, Ca. where he was stationed as a Naval pilot at the time. Many do not know, they were actually next door neighbors in Corpus Christi before they married. Ann was a member of a number of many local organizations and holding the title of President of several including Las Donas de la Corte Charter member, Order of de Pineda, Cotillion Alegre Charter member and belonged to the Junior League and a Charter member of Girls Cotillion.
Ann was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was passionate about cooking, needlepoint, hunting, skeet shooting, bridge and the ladies in her groups along with traveling the world, especially “aboard ship”, and adored watching football, tennis & golf and of course she always loved a good glass of tequila.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as the love of her life and husband of 45 years, Gilbert James McGloin, in 1989.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22 at Seaside Funeral Home.
