At the time of the wedding Daniel was residing in Interlochen, Michigan. Daniel's sister, Rosetta and her husband Bert Smith were the witnesses to the marriage.
Two weeks later, Daniel's mother Sylvia died at Lake Ann and was buried in the cemetery there,
