Born May 14, 1872 in Santa Ana, Morrell lived there until 18, when he moved to Oklahoma. He married Clara Patton [sic] in 1894 in Oklahoma.
He was a rancher in Taylor County, Texas, until 1923, when he and family moved to Elsinore. They lived there two years before coming to Corona in 1925.
He and his son, Howard, established Morrell’s Grocery at 601 West Sixth, which they operated until 1940, when he retired.
Morrell was a member of Abilene Lodge No. 559, F & A.M. in Abilene, Tex. He was a member of the Corona Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, including Frank J., of Corona, Howard W. and Edwin (Tex), both of Riverside; one daughter, Mrs. Esther McDonald, also of Riverside; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Less, of Anaheim.
Rev. Forrest Hubbell of the First Methodist Church and Temescal Lodge No. 314 F. & A.M. will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the mortuary after 5 p.m. tomorrow."
