During high school, Freda kept books for her dad. She worked for Rolscreen Company for two years, was a wife and mother and after the children were grown, worked at Stravers Hardware for many years, retiring in 1996.
Freda married Ralph Wisse on April 24, 1946, and were blessed with three children: John, Mary Jane and Charles Jay. 713 Jefferson was home to Freda for 57 years. She lived at the Pella Manor and as her health declined, she moved to The Cottages, passing away at the Comfort House on January 7, 2017.
Family and friends were very important to Freda. Her home was always warm and inviting, where a smile greeted all who came through her door. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren had such a sweet “Gram.” She loved them all dearly and brought great joy into the lives of her entire family.
Freda was a faithful member of Second Reformed Church. She loved the Lord, which was very evident in the way she lived her life.
