Reverend Dennis Earl Reid passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
Born February 1, 1944, in Portsmouth, VA, son of the late John Earl and Eva Mae Sutherland Reid; married the late Gloria Belle Stewart Reid in June of 1964.
A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and pastor.
Survivors include his children; Jeff Reid (Genia) of Flowery Branch, GA, Kevin Reid (Kim) of Franklin, TN, Tim Reid of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Christi Reid Pearson ( Jason) of Summerville, SC; and nine grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by son D. Mark Reid.
A retired pastor in the Church of God for 51 years, Dennis started preaching in February, 1965. He attended Wofford College and Lee University where he majored in bible and math. He served on the SC Church of God Youth Board and the SC Home for Children Board and planted 3 churches; Hemingway, SC, Broad Street Church of God; Charleston, SC, Ashley River Church of God; and Florence, SC, McIver Road Church of God. In addition, he pastored over 10 churches in South Carolina during his 51 years of ministry and was a member of Fairforest Church of God.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Fairforest Church of God, 2658 Fairforest Clevedale Road, Fairforest, SC.
