McIntosh - Cade Thrasher Whittington, age 97, of McIntosh, Florida, passed away on 13 April 2017. She was born in Micanopy, Florida,on December 13, 1919 to John Early Thrasher II & Raymond O'Neal Thrasher. She was married to Richard "Dick" Whittington for 73 years. She loved music for all of her life, performing solos beginning at age 3 and continuing until her early 90's. She was an accomplished pianist, playing for her church for most of her life. She was a devoted lifelong member of the Baptist Church which she served faithfully, active in all areas of leadership and service. She was dedicated to her community, active in the Order of the Eastern Star chapter, and many, many other pursuits. Cade loved her family and was proud of making a wonderful home for all of her children and grands to come home to for a visit. She always decorated her home beautifully for all holidays and preparing lavish meals and all the trimmings. She bestowed much love and care upon her family members. In addition, she was a wonderful example of a Christian servant and taught through her faith and example. She was, in all aspects, a Godly woman. She is survived by her son, Colonel Richard (Darlene)Whittington of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Whittington Summers. She is survived by her brother, John E. (Eleanor) Thrasher III of Micanopy, Florida;five grandchildren: Bonnie Summers (Siegfried)Schmidt, John H. (Melissa)Summers, Michael Summers, Richard J. (Sarah)Whittington and David (Carla)Whittington. Additionally, nine great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
