Rose M. (Verdill) West, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Punxsutawney, PA on December 29, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Caroline (Rich) Verdill.
On September 25, 1954, she married Charles A. West. They celebrated 62 years of loving marriage. Tragically she lost her beloved husband in a car accident in April 2017. Mrs. West loved spending time with her family, cooking with her husband and staying at their cabin in Great Valley, NY. Quite the lady of fashion, she loved shopping and traveling to NYC with her son, Charles. They enjoyed spending time in Manhattan at some of their favorite eateries.
She is survived by two sons, Charles 'Chaz' West, Jr., of Niagara Falls and Donald West (Deby) of Grand Island; and her newest addition Toy Poodle, Rosie. Rose was predeceased by her husband; several siblings; and her Shih Tzu, Linda.
Family will be present on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where the Rev. Laura Norris Buisch will conduct services at 9 PM. Committal prayers will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, All Saints, Mausoleum, 500 Riverdale Avenue, Lewiston, NY.
