Mark & Mary Roberts Came to Texas in Feb.1836, One of the first families to enter Fannin county. the steamboat "Rover" Passed snags & bends in the Red River Bringing these families Richard Locke, Dr. Daniel Rowlett, Daniel Black, Edward & John Stephens. They were soon joined by Jabez Fitzgerald, Mark Roberts & their families.Who had traveled overland. Mark was a Texas Ranger 1837-1841, Cattleman, Farmer.
