A celebration of life will be held for Glenda "Terri" Gay Bowers, 76, of Duncan, OK, at Friday, April 7, 2017 at Bethel Assembly of God Church with Pastor Ron Meador officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Glenda Gay Bowers passed away Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 17, 1940 in Empire City, OK to Talmus Bowden and Jewel Ray (Harris) Bowden. Glenda worked as a cosmetologist and substituted at the Duncan Vo-Tech in the cosmology department. She married Cecil Floyd Bowers on December 8, 1998 in Waurika, OK.
Glenda loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God Church and enjoyed participating with church's connect group. She loved to read the Bible, and was a strong prayer warrior.
Glenda is survived by her daughters, Donna and her husband Greg Rodriguez and Melanie and her husband Darin Carman, all of Duncan; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 13 years, Cecil Floyd Bowers; her son, Andy Tidwell; and a grandson, Bobby Tidwell.
Pallbearers will be Jay Drewery, Aaron Tidwell, Charles Sprouse, Bud Sprouse, Zechariah Rodriguez, and Ivan Sprouse.
The family would like to especially thank Glenda's friends at her connect group for their love and support.
