Brandon Marquis Bryant “Pooh Bear or “Lil B”

Funeral services for Brandon Marquis Bryant, 28, of Houston will be Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John United Methodist Church, 2019 Crawford St., Houston, TX 77002, with Pastor Lee Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.

He died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston, TX. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. He was a 2001 graduate of Jack Yates High School where he played on the high school baseball team. He enjoyed working out and hanging out with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sargant and Allena Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Carolyn Taylor Gibson and step-father, Chris Gibson of Houston; his father, Victor Bryant and Linda of Manvel; sons, Braylon Marquis Bryant and Bryce Malik Bryant, both of Houston; brothers, Rodney Jones and wife Mary of Brazoria and Derek Gibson of Houston; grandmother, Dorothy Bryant of Clute; good friends, Brooks Dobbins and Don Bryant, both of Houston, Jarvis Tims of Angleton and Corey Tolbert of Brazoria; aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Bryant, Don Bryant, Jarvis Tims, Brooks Dobbins, Richard Daniels, Marlon Evans and Mike Dobbins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Braylon Marquis Bryant, Bryce Malik Bryant, Rodney Jones, Derek Gibson, Demetrius Nowlin, Michael Nowlin, Brandon Adams, Joffery Reid, Arthur Taylor Sr. and John Taylor.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. only. There will be no viewing afterward.
