He is survived by his devoted daughter and caregiver, Lisa Hockaday; son, Rodney Woody (Hope); two grandsons, his pride and joy, Austin and Logan; brother, David Lewis; sister, Dorothy Gammon; as well as best friend, his beloved cat, Hank.
Being that he was an over-the-road truck driver, John's favorite quote was, "I'll back up more miles than you'll drive forward!"
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, at Perkins Baptist Church, Hadensville.
