Leroy F. Loth, 86, of Hallettsville, passed away April 5, 2017. He was born on December 25, 1930 to Adolph H. & Amalia Lang Loth in Fredericksburg. He married Lillie Spies on May 31, 1959 at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church of Moravia.

Leroy served in the US Navy during the Korean War; and received the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Smithville, and Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church of Moravia.

Leroy was a wonderful husband, father, Opa, brother and uncle. He loved his family dearly. He enjoyed going deer hunting and fishing with his family. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. He relished playing dominos and cards, especially shoot the moon and solitaire. In his leisure time, he liked to read western books, watch Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Blue Bloods with his grandson Nicklas; and listen to country music. He also took pleasure in working in the yard.

Leroy was a people person and never met a stranger. He liked visiting with people and telling stories of his childhood, high school years at St Mary's Catholic School in Fredericksburg and Navy years in Hawaii and Midway Island. He was proud to be part of the 6 man football team. He never missed a high school reunion and loved seeing his classmates especially his first cousin AJ Loth.

Leroy was known in the community as the pink panther and a car salesman. He lived with his daughter Becky during his last four years. He is going to be missed by his family very much. He was an early riser and would sit in his chair and drink his coffee with cookies every morning and sometimes have his dried deer sausage he would get from his brother David and pray his rosary. His memories will live on in all of our hearts.

Leroy is survived by: wife Lillie of 58 years; daughter Becky Osborne & husband Lindey of Bastrop; brother David Loth & wife Janet of Kerrville; 2 sisters, Shirley Moehle, and Mary Cavin & husband Nelson, both of Schertz; and 3 grandchildren, Bailey Sevcik, Keith Sevcik and Nicklas Osborne.
