Laura Rose Wagner, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April, 6, 2017 at Oak Creek Assisted Living, Kiel, with her loving family at her side.She was the former Laura Rose Koenig, born December 15, 1926 in Sheboygan County, daughter of the late John & Angeline (Binversie) Koenig.Laura attended St. Fidelis Catholic School, Spring Valley.On September 11, 1946 she married Ashley C. Wagner at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Spring Valley.He preceded her in death on June 22, 1999.Laura volunteered for many years at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse, New Holstein.She enjoyed playing sheepshead with her card club and friends at the Kiel Senior Center and playing bingo in Kohler. She also enjoyed traveling and working in her huge vegetable and flower gardens.Laura looked forward to annual weekend Christmas shopping trips with her daughters and granddaughters. Being around her family was important to her, she looked forward to camping, spending time at the cottage up north, and playing cards with them.Survivors include her daughters: Diane Schmitz, New Holstein, Nancy (Robert) Schneider, New Holstein, Barbara (Daniel) Kienbaum, Kiel, Vicky (friend, Dan Samz) Schweitzer, Argonne, and sons; Eugene (Jerri) Wagner, New Holstein and Dale (Brenda) Wagner, St. Anna. She is further survived by her grandchildren; Kelly (Kevin) Christian, Todd (Michelle) Schmitz, Rob (Angela) Schneider, Amy (Eric) Verkuilen, Michelle Kienbaum (Jess), Chad (Charlotte) Kienbaum, Scott (Stacy) Schweitzer, Stacy Schweitzer, Sara Plautz (Jeremy), Jamie (Jill) Wagner, Jason (Emily) Wagner, Jessica (Steve) Wollersheim, Chad (Sara) Jeanty, Mike (Rebecca) Wagner, Melissa (Chris) Synon and Ashlee (Devon) Percival. She is further survived by great grandchildren: Kira Christian, Emma & Gavin Schneider, Joshua & Lauren Verkuilen, Danielle & Austin Berenz, Collin & Cole Kienbaum, Cassie & Jenna Schweitzer, Andy Schweitzer (Jenny), Jonah Plautz, Benjamin, Elizabeth & Nicholas Reznichek, Kaitlynn, Samantha & Spencer Wagner, Tye Wollersheim, Allyson, Ryan & Dylan Jeanty, Huck Wagner, Courtney & Paige Synon, Aubrey Percival and one great great grandchild; Maya Schweitzer.Further survived by her brothers & sisters; Betty Bonde, Marge (Donald) Bonde, Tom (Marie) Koenig, Laverne (Romy) Karls, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons-in-law, Robert Schweitzer and Vernon Schmitz, four sisters, four brothers and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.The funeral Mass for Laura will be celebrated at 6:00 pm Monday, April 10, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, (11928 Marken Road, Kiel), School Hill, with Fr. Patrick Nelson S.D.S. officiating.Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 2:00 pm until 5:45 when brief family rites will take place.Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
