Bryan Whithurst "Pete" Thompson
(May 4, 1931 - April 7, 2017)

Bryan Whitehurst “Pete” Thompson, age 85, a resident of Little Rock, AR died Friday, April 7, 2017 at Thomas Hospital. He was born in Stockton, Alabama to Robert W and Annie D Thompson in 1931.
He was true patriot who proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his time in the Navy, he attended Auburn University before beginning a life long career in civil service which led him to become Director of Educational TV at Ft Rucker, Alabama.
He was a master storyteller who always looked forward to a long chat on the porch with a cup of strong, black coffee and his favorite pipe. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting in the woods of Baldwin County and fishing on the Tensaw River.
He was a world class whistler, a skillful woodworker, a prankster of the highest order and an eternal optimistic who always saw the bright side of situations and the best in people. He was extraordinarily kind and compassionate.
Pete was a member of the Stockton Masonic Lodge for over 60 years which shaped his morals, ethics and commitment to God. He was devoted to his bride of fifty plus years and took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, who will live the rest of their lives striving to live up to the legacy he leaves them.
He is survived by his children, Bryan “B.T.” (Connie) Thompson of Enterprise, AL; Angie Thompson of Little Rock, AR and Melissa Thompson Alle of Little Rock, AR; on sister, Gloria Ann Ray of Bay Minette, AL; six grandchildren, Bobby Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, Mary Thompson, Anthonie Allen, Jordan Allen and John Darrington Allen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Thompson; brothers, Robert and Mac Thompson; sisters, Catherine Mosley, Eunice Martin, Letha Mae Baggette and Awonga Drinkard.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Stockton Presbyterian Church with Reverend John Cory officiating. Burial will follow at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Stockton Presbyterian Church.
