Brown Harvey Wood, 82, died at the family home of natural causes.

He was born April 13, 1881 in Trenton, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Slater Wood. He received his education in the county schools and had been a farmer in Cache Valley throughout his lifetime.

Mr. Wood helped build the West Cache Canal and many others in Amalga area. He was a well known horse breeder and one of the first to introduce thoroughbreds into Cache Valley. He was a charter member of the Rocky Mountain Dairy Association.

On November 5, 1902 he married Emma Olsen in Logan.

Brown also tended beehives and made the best honey hard candy, it was pulled to perfection like taffy.
