Obituary - Brigham City - Charles W. Forsgren, 84, died at the family home in Brigham City at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, following a three month illness of hardening of the arteries.
He was born January 16. 1850, in Salt Lake City, the son of John Eric and Sarah Bell Davis Forsgren. The family moved soon after to Brigham City, where Mr. Forsgren spent most of his life.
He was married to Esther Ann Smith, October 18, 1876, in Brigham City. In 1884 he and his family were called by President Lorenzo Snow to assist in colonizing Arizona. They resided at St. Johns, Arizona until 1890, during which time three children were born to them.
Mr. Forsgren was a progressive father and was an active man in building up this community.
Surviving are his widow and the following sons and daughters: Samuel Leroy of Corinne; Vivian V. of Tremonton; Mrs. Geneva Wright of Lakota, Bear Lake; Mrs. Vern Jeppson, John S. Forsgren, Mrs. Ruth Corrine, Mrs. Maud Bowen, Mrs. Grace Rock and Leland D. Forsgren, all of Brigham City: Mrs. Alice Elliason, of Elko, Nevada; Mrs. Hazel Southwick, of Koaia, Hawaiian Islands; 33 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Alice Forsgren and John H. Forsgren, both of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held in the Fourth Ward LDS chapel Saturday at 2 p.m., with Bishop A.M. Hansen in charge. Interment will take place in the city cemetery.
