Mattie Emler died at her home six miles northwest of Shelbyville, Mo., on Feb. 28, 1900, at 1:15 a. m., surrounded by her only son, mother and one sister, and many kind and loving neighbors. Deceased was born in Shelby county, Mo., June 25, 1852; married to John Emler Aug. 20, 1872, who died Jan. 23, 1886. Deceased was a member of the Christian church. She was a faithful mother, a kind and loving neighbor. It was our priviledge to know her as a schoolmate and as a christian. She was always willing to help in sickness, in the church or any place she could do good. We would say to mother, sisters, brothers, son and friends, lean on the everlasting arm of Jesus. Take these words of scripture to your heart, "All things work together for good to them that love the Lord." S. N. R.
